Hey Doc, love what you’re doing. An idle mind is an empty mind and you make sure that our minds don’t go idle. This country is going the wrong way in so many ways that it is near impossible to approach every subject but you do a great job trying to get as many facts out as you can. Thanks for everything and good luck, brother,
    Trevor

  5. 7 Monica August 28, 2011 at 8:23 pm

I HATE the fact that you had to share your stupid bunny story on t.v, was that really necessary??? I am an AVID animal lover and I was terribly upset seeing you pick up that gorgeous white bunny and know tht you took it and killed it!!!! Thats an awful thing to advertise on t.v. and if my granddaughter had been watching with me, she would of cried…I think that was mean and insensitive and a jerk comes to mind but I dont want to call names but i’m so upset that I turned off the show after seeing/hearing that! If you were my chiropractor and I heard that on t.v. now you would no longer be my Dr..stuff like that should be kept from people that are animal lovers and very sensitive to that kind of killing of cute adorable bunnies..we have tons of them in our yard and neighborhood and the thought of someone likeyou hurting them and eating them makes me sick to my stomach.

I recently saw you on TLCs “Living for the Apocolypse” and wanted you to know that your gas mask will not seal properly with your beard. You may want to HIGLY consider shaving it so you will be properly protected from chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear agents.

    • 17 CJ August 28, 2011 at 11:11 pm

Technically the mask wont protect against all those agents you will need a cat 5 chem. suit military grade. I have 2 brand new vacuum sealed ready in my survival duffle “BUGOUT” bag w/sleeping bags etc… Put what u think u will NEED when the time comes. U can only carry so much so make sure u follow the 5 P’s Proper Preporation Prevents Poor Performance. Good Luck to the nice people out there when the time comes…

  7. 18 Yoshi August 28, 2011 at 8:40 pm

how dare you show that you cage and eat those rabbits. Rabbits are the number 3 pet in the US! Would you capture a dog or cat and do the same thing? Pet rabbits ARE NOT FOOD! If you were my doctor I would report you for being crazy, neglectful to animal life, unsanitary conditions that you work in! You make me sick!

    • 19 Amanda Brown August 28, 2011 at 8:52 pm

YOSHI CAN YOU SAY WHEN U R STARVING U WILL NOT EAT THAT RABBIT

      • 20 Donna August 31, 2011 at 1:20 pm

Yoshi, are you nuts , those animals were well cared for and in very clean cages and very well fed. and they were not his pets. He dispatches them humanely and has the courtisy to change his before he takes on the roll of Doctor. They are raised as food. And yes in different cultures dogs and cats are food as well. And what would you report woman? He has the right to raise his own food. What do you think about those sweet big eyeed little calves and cows you eat when you eat a hamburger? Or those sweet little chickens with the beautiful feathers, or those sweet little cornish hens their sooo cute.. Not to mention those cute little pink nose pigs that are so intelligent. That smell so good on your grill. Get a grip lady, if it came down to it and it was you a him left on this earth you would be at his door begging for some of his rabbit stew.!!!

    • 21 Wugrutt September 2, 2011 at 1:41 pm

Hey, at least with people like this, I know I got easy pickings when the SHTF. More Rabbits for me too.

  8. 22 Terry August 28, 2011 at 8:57 pm

Get over the rabbit, survival isnt always pretty, but it is necessary.
Bet you’d love to see how the meat you buy in those neat little packages you buy at the supermarket were raised and killed…

    • 23 CJ August 28, 2011 at 11:14 pm

These people that r freakin out about the rabbits r just thinkin w/their hearts not w/their minds. They will come around eventually

  9. 24 Victoria August 28, 2011 at 9:05 pm

Is it just me or are too many people concerned about the rabbit? I think you all watched Bambi way too many times… it is NOT a domesticated animal! It is food…why are none of you complaining about the goat to slaughter? Or the chickens to slaughter?

And this is a prime example of survival of the fittest!! Thank you Survival Doc for your information! I know if anything was to go south my husband would be the greatest survivalist for me to have! Lord help me if I have to count on my kids….. who also think bunnies are pets!

  10. 25 DJ Paulie Delviccio August 28, 2011 at 9:12 pm

most of you posting are morons. Survival Doc…. your show was amazing! You animal rights activists would be singing s a different tune when your starting in a ____ hits the fan situation!

  11. 26 sadface August 28, 2011 at 9:36 pm

I never ate rabbit but I’m sure it would be the greatest thing I ever ate if I was starving bad enough.

  12. 27 Sonny Abbasi August 28, 2011 at 10:15 pm

Just saw your show on TLC….thought you didn’t want to get identified. My problem is persuading my wife. She thinks I am a wacko notwithstanding the fact that in the last week my area has enjoyed an earthquake and a hurricane. She won’t let buy a gun and with great difficulty, she late me stockpile some food i.e. buying extra grocercies when we go shopping. On the other hand she does want to go camping, so that might be a good start.

    • 28 survivalist August 28, 2011 at 10:41 pm

You need your wife’s permission to buy a gun? I think you need cojones more than you need a gun! But seriously, you have to live with her so I’ll just say stock up on camping equipment and have fun! Also buy some silver during the dips. Peace!

  13. 29 Dr. Dave August 28, 2011 at 10:26 pm

Survival Doc, you are my hero! I am also a chiropractor. With that beard, I thin you look a lot like D. D. Palmer.

  14. 30 Skip August 28, 2011 at 10:36 pm

Just saw the show, 1st time. THANK YOU! Being a former soldier I was trained to survive. I carry my ruck sack in the truck always and could live for a week in it. My regret is that I didn’t start doing this at home sooner. We are both going to start stocking up. GET OVER THE RABBITS, If it’s not human and it breaths it’s food. You gotta new fan Doc. If I lived close enough you’d be working on my back.

  15. 31 scott August 28, 2011 at 10:52 pm

Its sad to see someone not living in the moment and enjoying the gift of TODAY, but rather living in fear of a tomorrow that may never come. If you want real protection, the only kind of protection that Almighty God can provide, then I suggest reading, meditating, studying and claiming the powerful promises of Psalm 91….God bless

    • 32 survivalist August 29, 2011 at 6:58 am

Survivalists don’t live in fear. Preparedness is Peace of Mind! Am I fearful because I buy fire insurance or buy a fire extinguisher? When I see a tornado coming am I fearful for seeking shelter in the basement? It isn’t about fear, it’s about being smart. Trust in God but pass the ammunition! Our Founding Fathers were mostly very religious men. If they had felt like most Christians feel today, we would never have had an American Revolution and would still be living under British tyranny. The Bible is full of examples of people who stood up against the worldly powers of their day. Now, MAN UP, and FIGHT FOR YOUR REPUBLIC! If you won’t do it for yourself do it for your children, who as Americans, have a birthright of liberty!

    • 33 Wugrutt September 2, 2011 at 1:51 pm

Scott, glad living in the moment works for you… I like it too, but I also like to take actions I can to give me the best chance of having more moments.

“Sad” is that you act like you got something figured out that we don’t without even considering that it is yourself that is behind the curve in understanding life, the universe, and everything. 😛

  16. 34 judy August 28, 2011 at 11:18 pm

I think that most of the world is going to be surprised when the Apocalypse comes ,I just know we are prepared and know what to do ,may God protect us all !

    • 36 Wugrutt September 2, 2011 at 1:55 pm

Scott, quit with the rhetoric already… There’s a lot of SHTF things that happen to people that are not “THE” apocalypse.

Seriously, are you trying to convince us that we are just wasting time? The more of your posts I read the more I appreciate people like you being easily manipulated when the need arises to secure MY survival.

  18. 37 Joe@lv.com August 28, 2011 at 11:25 pm

Why would you want to survive the hypothetical apocolypse? I know I sure wouldn’t, especially a nuclear one.

    • 38 survivalist August 29, 2011 at 6:52 am

The question isn’t why I would want to survive. The question is why would I want to die? I do it for my children and grandchildren, who deserve a life. They are Americans so they were born with a birthright of liberty, which is being taken away from them by an out of control govt. Humans are going to get through this thing. The question is what will the world be like. Rather than lie down and let them run over us, we need to man up and FIGHT FOR THE REPUBLIC!

  19. 39 Jeff Presnail August 29, 2011 at 12:07 am

    Hi there,

Just curious if you’ve started a lawsuit yet against TLC. I imagine you already have, and I hope you win. I have saved a copy of the show (exactly as it was aired in Canada) if you need it for court.

Best of luck, you should definitely be well-prepared financially after this gets settled!

    Jeff

PS – I was not a fan of the rabbits thing either, but I don’t think it’s crazy or mean in any way. I just don’t have it in me to kill anything fluffy.

    • 40 survivalist August 29, 2011 at 6:50 am

There will be no lawsuit against TLC. Mistakes happen. (Besides, I signed a waver saying I wouldn’t sue them.) I’ll just have to move my silver to a new location. Thanks for your concern, though. Keep up the good work and fight for our Republic!

      • 41 Jeff Presnail August 29, 2011 at 9:32 am

That’s awfully forgiving of you…surely a waiver can’t be all encompassing though. If they’d published your bank account numbers, credit cards and PINs by accident they have to be responsible. I’d consult a lawyer if I were you. You don’t seem angry in the least though…
Best of luck whatever you decide…I probably won’t be fighting for the US Republic though as I’m in Canada, but I will keep up the good work! 😉

        Jeff

  20. 42 scott August 29, 2011 at 7:50 am

I am not putting you down for the stance you are taking in being a survivalist. I wish you all the luck in the world. Everybody has a right to live and do as they please. I choose to put my faith in my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to lead me, guide me, direct me and protect me. Its as simple as that for me. I know the protection that I have over me, for the battle is not mine but it belongs to the Lord. All I know is that they were convinced and assured that the Titanic wouldn’t sink either. I’m living for today my friend, and whatever happens in the future is in God’s hands. Peace to you….

    • 43 survivalist August 29, 2011 at 12:13 pm

I put my faith in the Lord as well, as did Noah, but he still built the ark. I suspect that you also buy insurance and have a fire extinguisher. That doesn’t mean you don’t have any faith. It means that you are willing to do your part, and let God do the rest.

    • 44 n September 1, 2011 at 10:26 pm

ever hear of latter day saints that strongly suggests prepping for there entire congeration? they even offer a food calculator so you no how much to store for your family. yes i agree that my life is in gods hands but he also gave me a brain and the ability to choose to live

      • 45 Mitchel February 23, 2012 at 4:01 pm

I as well put my faith in the Lord, but I still go to the grocery store every week. Preparing for natural and man made disasters is part of the self preservation that God created us with. To what extent you prepare is a personal decision.

  21. 46 Mudring August 29, 2011 at 8:15 am

Seen u on tv and have been wanting to start preparing. Any pointers would be greatly appreciated. Im an avid outdoors man so in that perspective im prepared.

  22. 47 LT. Bear August 29, 2011 at 2:47 pm

You are a credit to Preppers every where. I am also raising rabbits, I only hope they taste as good as they look. Iwanted to start to produce some of what my family consumes, hormone free.

  23. 48 Patty August 29, 2011 at 4:31 pm

Loved your show and thanks for the tips. I think the bunnies are cute, too, and while I haven’t tried it I would if I needed to. Our family has a plan to meet in a specific location out of the city in case of emergency. Now to start packing/stocking for that emergency as it isn’t “if” it is “when.” God bless to all.

  24. 49 Danielle August 29, 2011 at 6:44 pm

I just saw you on Livin’ for the Apocalypse and I think you are brilliant! I didn’t like the way the show tried to make everyone look like a lunatic, but hey, if it inspired one person I guess it was worth it…

  25. 50 Brian August 29, 2011 at 7:35 pm

Doc, we just saw you on the TLC show “Livin’ for the Apocalypse”. You and your wife inspired my wife to get serious and stop looking at me like I am crazy. The for the phrase to remember: “Be prepared or be prepared to be fleeced”.

  26. 51 John Panagos August 31, 2011 at 11:54 am

If you think eating a rabbit is terrible think of the Donner Party when they got caught in the mountain pass in the winter, dead people kept them alive, Smokering

  27. 52 L. September 1, 2011 at 8:32 am

For what it is worth, plenty of us are leery of what the world situation is, we have never been more ill informed from the corrupt government as we have right now! The constant LIES from the WH are staggering. We are best informed by simply trusting our gutts. wonder if anyone out there has had any dreams… we can chat, I see things in my dreams that have me on the edge, to vivid to be a dream God Portect us all.

  28. 53 Stephen W September 1, 2011 at 12:11 pm

Hey, just saw Livin for the apoc., Im only 31 years old and I think about survival stuff a lot. I have been purchasing gold, silver, platinum and paladium from internet and other various places. I have a question. Does any one know where to go to get daily rates on the different metals??? If someone knows about that stuff I would love to hear info. thanks

    WAR SUVIVOR DOC!

  29. 56 Wugrutt September 2, 2011 at 2:01 pm

I enjoyed the TLC episode to some degree until I saw the Tran-sexual man living with his best friend part and how stupid they made prepping look with such child-like approaches and execution of their “plans”.

    The whole bit was asinine…..

  30. 57 Paul September 7, 2011 at 10:55 pm

I’d like to know if it is worth it to keep copper as well, such as copper wire and pipe. Maybe melt it down into bars or something. Or would I be better off just scrapping the copper and buying silver.

    • 58 survivalist September 8, 2011 at 7:42 am

All commodities will increase including copper but silver will proportionately increase much greater than copper and is more compact and easier to store. If you have copper or get good buys on it fine, then take it to a scrap dealer and sell it and use the money to buy silver and/or gold. By all means don’t hoard copper pennies. That will be like hoarding paper dollars.

  31. 60 Sally September 12, 2011 at 7:24 pm

Hello, I have a question, can you give me any ideas of alternate forms of personal protection besides a gun? The process in the state where I live is long & tedious at best & idk if we have that long to wait before the shtf!!! Also, Thank You so much for your time and genuine concern for your fellow man, woman & children, and a big TYVM to your wife too!!!! I am a single Mom with 2 small adopted children & I didn’t come this far to have ANYONE take what was so hard to get from us!!!!

    • 61 Derrick Belcher September 23, 2011 at 7:02 pm

Hi Sally, hope this will be of some help. It does not matter what State or City you live in You have the right to own a gun. If you don’t want it to take a long time for you to get a gun all you have to do is but a gun and have it shiped to a FFL Dealer. And I have never known of a pawn shop that did not have an FFL in the store. The paperwork takes about 15 min. and you can leave with the gun. And if that is not fast enough then you can buy one from indinidual out of the newspaper or go to a gun and knife show, you give them the money, and you will get the gun right then.
Now I know that you asked about ” Alternate forms of personal protection ” And yes you can buy a taser or a crossbow but the crossbow can not stay loaded for a long time without damaging it. And a taser is only good if you have batteries, and the fact that you are on this site lets me know that you are aware that we could be faced with the fact that one day we may not have the privilege of going into a store and buying what ever you want, like batteries. But on the other hand a gun can be left loaded for twenty years or more and will still get the job done provided it is a revolver and not an automatic. If you decide to get a gun you might want to look at the Judge or Public Defender made by Taurus.

      • 62 Devilman May 8, 2012 at 7:24 pm

Best way to buy a gun is at a flea market, craigslist or any other nontracable transaction. Just sayin…

I loved your videos on silver hard currency and the article on debasement of currency. I want to purchase silver, but with so many options out there I’m confused. Could you write an addition to your article or at least a blog post on how you would start purchasing silver with a limited budget?

    • 66 Devilman May 8, 2012 at 7:26 pm

I saw where a guy was bottling wine, storing it under ground, pretty cool setup. His theory is sure silver is nice and all but where you going to spend it? Who will give you what for it? But with a bottle of fine wine, he has an instant bartering commodity. Nothing like surviving a SHTF episode with a glass of wine, I’d trade a piece of silver for a bottle.

      • 67 survivalist May 9, 2012 at 6:37 am

You think a bottle of wine is good for bartering? Try bartering with silver. It is infinitely better, especially during an emergency or break down of society. Furthermore you can put all your savings into silver. You would be very foolish to put even a small amount of your savings in wine. Use your head.

  35. 68 roysrambles May 14, 2012 at 7:57 pm

The guy on Doomsday Preppers sure had a good opinion comparing wine and other food stuffs to silver. Imagine being stranded on a deserted island with 10 tons of silver or 10 tons of food and wine. Silver certainly will retain a value, but for what? I could exchange you one bottle of wine for one silver coin, but I can’t eat or drink that coin. I see your point as the US Dollar will soon collapse, that almost seems direct on target. Silver at that time will be good as a “currency”, but at the end of the day you need food and water to survive.

    • 69 survivalist May 15, 2012 at 7:00 am

Being stranded on a dessert island is not a scenario that I envision. In fact, there is no scenario that I envision in which there will not be other people, some of whom I might want to barter with for things I need. Historically, silver and gold have been the most preferred things to barter with. Every indication is that this will continue to be the case. But I’m not saying you should not put away food as well. I do. But if you put all your savings into food and/or wine then you are going to starve in the poor house, if you are lucky enough to find a poor house. Go ahead and put your savings into wine rather than real money. All that will get you is drunk, poor and in the end starvation. But it is (so far) a free country. The strong and the intelligent will survive. The fool is easily separated from his money.

  36. 70 jmax June 29, 2012 at 2:09 pm

Survival Doc, thank you for putting together a step-by-step, common sense course on being prepared. Most sites have bits and pieces or specialize in expensive gear or bunkers, not a good place to start for most. I just completed all 15 chapters, have visited some estate sales, and am pricing items for my families BOB’s. Thank You!

Like you, I am a Christian, Ron Paul Supporter, care for our environment, and attempt to understand History and the mistakes that past generations have made.

Republican/Democrat supporters, get your head’s out of the sand and look up the facts for yourself! The ruling elite are playing the two sides in a real life drama, just like your favorite TV show (hero vs. villain appeal to anyone?) Once you accept this conclusion, everything you see in the news makes sense. Why we went to war, why we bailed out the banks while the same amount of money could have put $30,000 in every American’s pocket (real attempt at stimulus)….what exactly were they trying to stimulate?

Listen to the media and politicians explain WHY these decisions are made…confused yet? Yeah…now remove pop culture, news and TV influences and think about human nature and the experiences YOU have had with the people that you live and work with directly. Take a course on logic and think for yourself! ACT! As Survival Doc demonstrates, there are people that care for both personal liberty and are good stewards of the environment….won’t see that on TV!

Like Survival Doc said, “fight for our Republic!” It IS worth fighting for! We have turned into apathetic, faithless, hedonistic blobs (obesity, sex crimes, our obsession with money vs. our moral compass). We are literally having the “fight” conditioned out of us! Our children are setting up to be more spoiled and lazy than we are! They are bombarding us day-in and day-out, whether it’s Billboards, TV shows, News, Government, Schools, Malls, on and on…Is this just a coincidence or by design? Put your probability hats on, and use some common sense people!

“What can I do about it? I’m just one person?”

One foot in front of the other,
One rational thought in front of the other,
One encouraging, generous gesture to your neighbor,
One piece of wisdom to a child,
    One letter to your congressman,

Survival Doc is providing us with a roadmap, giving us tools and leading by example…..START NOW!

  37. 71 survivalist ("Survival Doc") June 29, 2012 at 7:01 pm

Thank you for your kind comments and for your words of wisdom. Keep up the good fight in the fight for our republic!

With havin so much content and articles do you ever run into any issues of plagorism or copyright infringement?
My blog has a lot of completely unique content I’ve either created myself or outsourced but it seems
a lot of it is popping it up all over the internet without my agreement.
Do you know any ways to help stop content from being ripped off?
    I’d certainly appreciate it.
